Making music usually starts with school bands. So it happened. The first musical thing which could be taken more or less serious was playing keyboards in a band called Flank (80-83). Experimental and full of testosterone.
Being topped with the experimental for a while, but not yet enough with the testosterone, he took part in playing and recording Frenz Fried & the Frimos (84-86), a spin-off of Amsterdam punkies Frites Modern with vocalist Rockin Belly.
An internal clash had him stop playing band music for about 10 years -in which other disciplines were investigated- not to be taken up again until he had moved to Zurich, to play with King Fuemm (96-01).
Originally started as skaband the group moved towards a more intelligible (as in: well articulated or enunciated, and loud enough to be heard distinctly) music, with a lot of homegrown songs and arrangements.
Meanwhile he got asked by Amy Denio and Waedi Gysi to come and play keys in the Pale Nudes (98-00), whose record -Soul come Home- he also recorded and produced.
Since 01 he has been taking part in Swiss Neuchatel band Ensemble Rayé to play keyboard and baritone saxophone (an instrument which he had been practicing -thanks to you wilf plum- in times of musical celibacy).
In (01) he made music and a sound installation for a theatre piece called -der Cid- from Corneille in the Schauspielhaus Bochum - directed by Niklaus Helbling.
For an immense theatre project called -Bad Hotel- (initiated by scenery chief Dirk Thiele and author Brigitte Helbling), Jeroen made a 2 hour live-soundscape together with co-musical director of the project
Martin Gantenbein.
Also in this period a studioproject was started with Fredi Fluekiger, called Serendip-O-Matic. The resulting CD -Post Mortal Songs- is scheduled to be released spring of
2005. This was followed up by participating making and performing the music for Mass&Fiebers -Red Cross Over-(02) and -Autodrom-(03), both theatre pieces being performed with Live Music.
In (04) he made music for Racines -Andromache- again in Bochum with the same director.
In summer 04 Jeroen and Ensemble Rayé mate Julien Baillod decided to form an experimental duo for two laptops, a guitar, a portable harmonium, and a couple of microphones called ./morFrom/.
